Canyon Lake Library

The city of Canyon Lake contracts with the Riverside County Library System to provide library services.

Welcome to the Canyon Lake Library! Our library staff is here to help! Whether you are looking for the newest novel, an audio book, or ready to learn about "Playaways" our newest form of recorded books, come visit the library. We also offer, computers, DVD's, music, and a new collection of books in Spanish.

The Canyon Lake staff is also here to support our young readers by offering bi-weekly story times, family programming and special events. Our focus is to help support reading readiness by providing quality books, media and great special events.

Our Canyon Lake Library is in the process of expanding. We will be increasing the size of the library and will be adding a new Children's Library and with this an expanded children collection. Our expansion will add 824 square feet to the existing library, and will provide much needed storage area and office space. We will also be increasing our library collection by about eight hundred items.  Our expansion will help us increase our library collection for both our adult and young teen readers. We will be offering patrons twelve public access computers and two electronic catalogs.  The expansion of the Young Adult's area will include additional graphic novels, fantasy and other popular culture books and a newly expanded nonfiction section.  Our adult collection will add more fiction, audio books and music, and Playaway recordings.  Our Friends of the Library Bookstore will be receiving a more prominent "home" inside of the library. So, please continue to support our "Friends" by purchasing used books, and other donated materials.  The Canyon Lake Library needs your help!  

Summer has come to the Canyon Lake Library.  Our Insects and Bugs Program is in full swing.  We are offering a juvenile, "Bugs and Insects Summer Reading Program and for our teens, the "Metamorphosis, Summer Reading Program ".  We have had a great turn out for both programs  and we currently have one hundred seventy children participating in this great summertime activity. Come on in and see how much fun libraries can be. There is still plenty of time to register your children.  This summer let's go "buggy" at the Canyon Lake Library.

The Children’s corner:

The children corner is a wonderful and inviting place designed to stimulate developing minds and young imagination.

The library provides preschool story time (ages 3-5 years) on Fridays @ 11:00 a.m. which introduce young children to the joys of books and storytelling.

Other outstanding programs for families include free educational and entertaining programs, Summer Reading Program and Winter Reading Program.

The Children collection includes board books for babies, pictures books, first readers, magazines, Spanish books, bilingual books, recorded books, music cd’s, reference books to meet the educational needs of school age children.
