If Canyon Lake had to be described in one word, that word would be unique. One of only five gated cities in California, Canyon Lake began as a master-planned community developed by Corona Land Company in 1968. The Lake originally was formed in 1927 after Railroad Canyon Dam was built. It covers 383 acres and has 14.9 miles of shoreline. The “City of Canyon Lake” was incorporated on December 1, 1990. The City has a population of 10,647 and geographically spans 4.6 square miles.

Canyon lake is located in Riverside County, which offers a growing job base, newly built designer homes and great schools.

AB 341 Mandatory Commercial Recycling

Attention All Canyon Lake Business Owner's:

Beginning July 1, 2012, Assembly Bill 341 (AB341) requires all businesses in California that generate four or more cubic yards of waste per week to recycle. In an effort to assist you with this new law, our contracted hauler (CR&R Environmental Services), offers a wide variety of recycling services. Please visit their website at www.crrwasteservices.com for further information.

Your business may also donate and/or self-haul materials to a recycling facility. Information abour California's new business recycling requirement is available from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) at www.calrecycle.ca.gov/climate/recycling.

As part of the City's ongoing effort to keep our residents informed and involved, the City of Canyon Lake is excited to announce the launch of a new Speaker's Bureau, a free local service to provide citizens with information about our programs and services. Canyon Lake's civic, church, social and professional organizations and clubs are all invited to contact City Hall at 244-2955 dharrington@cityofcanyonlake.com to request a guest speaker to attend their upcoming meeting or special event.
